Matchmaking for UFC Vegas 12 Main Event Winners

Uriah Hall vs Kelvin Gastellum 2

Uriah Hall knocked out the legend Anderson Silva on Saturday night and he has his mindset on facing Israel Adesanya for the belt. However, Dana White was quick to shut down any thoughts of Hall jumping the line for the next title shot. “I don’t know if it catapults him anywhere,” White said to Brett Okamoto on Hall’s win over Silva. What Dana is saying makes complete sense, Anderson Silva is almost 50 years old if you can’t beat him you really shouldn’t have a roster spot in the UFC. I think it is the perfect time to do the Hall vs Gastellum rematch. Kelvin has been on a losing skid and is ranked at #8, while Hall sits at #10. They first went to war in 2013 on The Ultimate Fighter finale where Kelvin outworked Hall for a decision victory. The story after that fight was how Uriah Hall has all the tools in the book except the right mentality. Well, Hall now has one of the best coaches in his corner in Sayif Saud. Saud was able to snap Hall out of his funk in the Silva fight by explaining to Hall he is going to get cracked if he continues to fight that way. If Hall vs Gastellum 2 gets booked, it is a perfect name to add to Hall’s resume if he wins and should give Kelvin the confidence booster he needs to get back in the win column.

Bryce Mitchell vs Dan Ige

Thug Nasty got the nod in a decision victory over Andre Fili this past weekend. The fight played out similarly to my breakdown prediction of the fight. Fili was able to defend multiple takedowns, but when Bryce got him to the ground he was dominant in controlling him. Mitchell’s standup looked a lot cleaner, although he said he broke his right hand in the first round. I believe a matchup with Dan Ige should be next for Mitchell. Dan “50k” Ige is coming off a five-round decision loss to Calvin Kattar and a debatable win over Edson Barboza. Even though Ige has fought some big names, he is still only ranked 12 and Mitchell is at 15. Ige boasts a 62% takedown defense while simultaneously being a precise striker at a 50% accuracy rate. Mitchell has proved he can hold his ground against respectable veterans in this game and I believe the next matchup to make is Mitchell vs Ige.

Other Notable Fighters:

Kevin Holland vs Brad Tavares

- Can we please give Holland a ranked opponent?

Greg Hardy vs Walt Harris

-Walt is on a losing streak and Hardy claims he is ready for a step up in competition, so let's see this battle of heavyweights with crazy knockout power.
