DWCS 34

Vanderaa vs Hunsucker: The first fight of the night kicks off with heavyweights and it will be fireworks. Harry Hunsucker stepping in on just 4 days notice in hopes of securing that contract. He has a very aggressive style as it's basically first round or bust due to the fact that he has never seen the second round in his 8 pro fights. On the flip side Jared "the Mountain" Vanderaa picked up an impressive win over Tony Lopez last time out. I have to side with the guy who has had a full camp and never been knocked out before. Vanderaa is my pick but I feel Hunsucker will come out guns blazing until he gasses out.

Murdock vs Saldana: Vince Murdock returns to the cage after a long layoff due to being diagnosed with a serious brain condition that required surgery. The product out of team Alpha Male, Vince Murdock is a striker with good hand speed, good ability to cut angles while adding a great 1-2. He is going to look to keep this fight on the feet as he has some real power in his hands. His opponent Luis Saldana has a big height advantage(5'11 to 5'6) while also having a crazy reach advantage too(74.5 to 65.0). Saldana's path to victory would be to stay on the outside to utilize his reach and height. But the loses tend to worry me as he holds a record of 13-6. The pick is Murdock as I feel he rocks Saldana at times and proves why we he is UFC caliber.

Bahamondes vs Gomez: Bahamondes is coming into this fight as a kickboxer and this young kid has some promise. He is the better striker and way faster with the hands, while also holding a 6'2-5'8 height advantage. If this fight stays on the feet, it will be easy work for Bahamondes but his weakness is the grappling as it is not the best. That I feel is Gomez's key path to victory as he does look for grappling exchanges a lot in his fights. He is a very scrappy fighter who tends to create scrambles throughout the fight. Edson Gomez's level of competition draws some big concerns as he has only beat 2 people with a winning record. And if we take a look at his last opponent, Danny Garcia. Garcia holds a record of 6-2 but has never beaten a guy with even one win. The pick for me is Bahamondes, as I feel there is too many red flags with Gomez.

Ulberg vs Oliveria: I'm really looking forward to this last fight as we finally get to see the highly anticipated debut of one of City Kickboxing's top level guys, Carlos Ulberg. Ulberg coming into this fight as the champ Israel Adesanya's top sparring partner. I feel this fight is going to play out as primarily a striking battle which will favor Carlos Ulberg. Carlos is going to be the better striker and the bigger guy in this matchup. My concerns for Ulberg is that he has been rocked before and if Oliveria comes in with a blitz like what he did to Jared Gooden, he will be in danger. When looking at the tape, Oliveria hangs his hands super low and thats something Carlos should capitalize on. Oliveria does his best work when he is the bully, but I don't believe that will be the case as Carlos Ulberg is the bigger man. My pick is Carlos Ulberg, as I feel this fight will be a kickboxing war. Having Brad Ridell and Israel Adesanya in your corner will help him out a lot, but I am not sleeping on Oliveria to bring pressure and make this a great scrap.
